Why clinics ask about your ride home
After sedation you can't drive, and many clinics won't release you to travel alone. CareDrive gives you a booked, named driver who collects you from inside, not a car waiting at the kerb.
How to book
Book online or call 1300 059 604 with your clinic name, procedure date and expected discharge time. We'll confirm your driver before the day. If your clinic has a specific escort form, send it to info@caredrive.au.
Common questions
Can I take a taxi or rideshare home after sedation?
Many Sydney day clinics will not discharge a sedated patient into a taxi or rideshare on their own. Requirements differ between clinics, so check your clinic's instructions. If they ask for a responsible adult escort, tell them before you book with us and we'll confirm whether our service meets their rules.
Will the driver come inside to collect me?
Yes. Tell us the clinic and ward when you book. Your driver can meet you at reception or the discharge area and help you to the car and to your front door.
What if my procedure runs late?
Give us the clinic's expected discharge time. The first 5 minutes of waiting are free; after that, waiting time is charged per minute at our published rate.
Can family book for me?
Yes. Family, carers and support coordinators can book and receive updates.
